In a year’s time, I have encountered numerous robbery incidents in La Huerta. I diligently report it to the Barangay because I believed that they can do something about it and as one of the protectors of the La Huerta residents, they are committed to its order and progress.
My, my, my!!!! When news tells us that a barangay tanod caught robbers within their area, it makes us all hopeful and thankful for such dedicated government agency. But, but, but! how come in La Huerta robbers are stationed strategically with brave and courage?! and they attack regularly!
The XO used to be a drug dependent. He used to be a “tambay”, jobless living in one of the squatters area. AND NOW, he is the XO of the barangay. WOW! Very powerful. He knows all the drug dependents of course. He knows every one in the area. So why would he confronting these outlaws if he has a strong relationship with them? He maybe the one to protect them when these people are in trouble for “pakikisama” sake. The saddest part is, he is being paid from our taxes!!!
So when a homeowner reports a robbery, he will just tell you to secure your place better so “they” will not be coming back. It’s beyond their power if they come back and see your place easy to rob.
So for all La Huerta homeowners and residents, protect your properties and dont expect any protection from barangay tanods. If you do, it will just suck all the optimism out of you.
